Burrhus Frederic (B. F.) Skinner
Born in Pennsylvania, he ended up getting his Ph.D from Harvard. He then went on to teach at a handful of universities and ended up back at Harvard as a professor. He was a man of many specialties, ranging from psychology to linguistics. He lived from 1904-1990 and during that time he contributed to many fields of education. However, his contributions have been debated by fellow scholars such as Chomsky due to the fact that he tried to use results from animals as a comparable study to humans. Despite it all, he was and still is a well known name for his work towards behavior theory and language development in children. |
